Kamelot announce new album ‘Dark Asylum’ and unleash grandiose single “Godlike Alchemy”

Symphonic power metal titans Kamelot have unveiled “Godlike Alchemy”, the second single from their forthcoming studio album, Dark Asylum. Due out on 28th August via Napalm Records, the record promises a deep dive into theatrical darkness alongside the band’s trademark soaring melodies

Following the release of lead single “Ashen World”, “Godlike Alchemy” combines soaring string arrangements with frontman Tommy Karevik’s powerful vocals, balancing ornate symphonic passages with heavy breakdowns. Karevik described the track as a reflection on internal strength: “What if you don’t need to look outside of yourself to find peace and happiness… What if you already possess the power you need to heal and create the reality you want to see?”

Set in a shadowed Neo-Victorian institution known as RavenHill Asylum, the album features a stellar host of guest appearances, including Tobias Sammet (Avantasia), Lea-Sophie Fischer (Eluveitie), Clémentine Delauney (Visions of Atlantis), Ignacia Fernández (Decessus), Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir, Sólveig Sara Leupold, and Billy King. The last time we featured them was with a review of their 2023 release, though The Awakening, Kamelot look set to deliver their most atmospheric narrative to date.

To bring the concept to life, the band will embark on the Dark Asylum World Tour this autumn. The UK and Ireland run includes the following dates:

  • 1st Nov – London, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire
  • 3rd Nov – Manchester, O2 Ritz
